I never really thought about, so I searched. Nothing really seems to give a good answer. I found this on http://ezinearticles.com/?Mardi-Gras-Bea… “There is a school of thought that the beads or representative of the jewelry that was worn by royalty.” But then this could be just as accurate. Sometimes the simplest and most obvious is often correct. From http://party.lovetoknow.com/Meaning_of_M… “Masks and beads represent the celebratory nature of Mardi Gras.” And while I think flashing for beads is stupid, Alucard, that is one damn funny answer!
