What is the significance of confirmation?
Confirmation is a long standing tradition in the Lutheran Church that provides an opportunity for young people to become grounded in the Word of God, rooted in the apostolic tradition of the faith, equipped to grow as disciples in the Church, and empowered to participate more fully in the mission of Jesus. Confirmation is more of a springboard for an adventurous life of discipleship rather than a religious obligation.
