What is the Sierra Wireless AirCard® 555R?

0

The Sierra Wireless AirCard 555R has a Removable User Identity Module (RUIM). Similar to the AirCard? 555, it fits into a standard Type II PCMCIA card slot (available on most notebook PCs) and functions as a wireless network card, a modem, and a mobile phone. The RUIM stores your account information enabling to transfer account information from device to device. (Please note that RUIM support is specific to certain carriers). It functions similiary to the AC555 and allows you to connect to the Internet, send and receive e-mail, connect to a corporate network, and make voice calls, without the need for a network cable or phone line.
