What is the SICD Global Board Director Initiative?
The GBDI, offered in cooperation with the ICD trains both experienced, new and aspiring Directors. The GBDI is designed to help Directors enhance their knowledge of necessary board room practices. While many governance programs, seminars and text emphasize compliance practices, participants in the GBDI also focus on board effectiveness – governance practice designed to enhance and protect shareholder value. The GBDI will provide and unprecedented opportunity for Board Directors in Japan to obtain a world-class accreditation. The GBDI covers the governance issues Directors face each time they enter a board or a committee meeting. The program is delivered in four three-day modules. Modules include roundtables, board simulations with guest CEOs and real-time case studies, all in the context of current, real-world issues. The program covers current regulations and best practices.
