What is the SI DVD ?
The SI DVD is very similar to the GM Service Information (SI) application that you are already familiar with. Instead of requiring technicians to load 1 application CD and 6 data CDs to the Techline PC, the SI DVD runs directly from the Techline PC DVD drive and takes minutes to start. Once the SI DVD application has finished startup, it can be accessed via Internet Explorer on the Techline PC in which the DVD is running or from other PCs by IP address (this method of access is referred to as ‘SI Peer to Peer access’ and is covered in more detail below).
