What is the short and long-range focus of the Task Force with regards to the data being collected?
2002-2003 Goals: The Task Force is going to set basic administrative and reporting infrastructure and determine a long-term evaluation strategy. Based upon the information the Task Force acquires from this initial set of grants, the information it receives from Indigent Defense Expenditure Report pursuant Section 71.0351, (c) of the Texas Government Code, and any other relevant information it obtains, the Task Force will recommend changes to improve reporting if necessary. Data collection is necessary to determine whether the Fair Defense Act is being implemented as required and to make meaningful policy analysis. 2003-2004 Goals: The Task Force will develop the next step in the evaluation strategy and determine the first area for in-depth evaluation.
