What is the shelter, and who stays in the shelter?
The shelter is a temporary place of rest and sleep for our neighbors who find themselves without appropriate housing right now; a refuge; a safe and quiet place; a welcoming center; not a replacement for housing or a distraction from the goal of housing for all persons. People who come in for the night are very diverse: black, white, asian, native american, latino, gay, straight, young, older, women, men, youth (no children), believers and non-believers, people with mental and physical challenges, some with addictions and some without, Marinites from birth and newcomers. In other words, come to the shelter to see our community, Marin, US.
