What is the shelf life of canned food?

0

While cleaning out the basement, my parents found canned pickles and venison that was dated over 30 years ago. My dad tried a little of the venison, and it tasted OK, so he and my mom ate it. They did not suffer any ill effects. They did the same with the pickles and even gave me three jars dated “1972”. I opened one jar and ate them, though they were very soft & mushy the flavor was very good! I am going to wait until until 2007 to open the other jars, because they they will be 35 years old, the minimum age for a United States president. I will bring the “presidential pickles” to work and offer a sample to any soul daring enough to eat 35-year old food!
