What is the setting in the book “Brave New World” by Aldous Huxley?

Well, obviously the future. But in terms of location I think it takes place in a world where countries have ceased to be (as travel between them is so easy) and the state has taken control of this huge area, except for one small part. As an American, when I read the story I attributed this “savage area” to Arizona or some desert state as it fit my picture. I think it’s likely the rest of the area is weather controlled and has no distinct features and thus nature and location (as we think of it today) are unimportant. There are likely no accents nor regional sayings. I know they talk of other areas like (in ….. they’ve replicated this cell a billion times there) but I think these lands are slowly becoming more compact in worldview.
