What is the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA), and what protections does it provide?
The SCRA is a federal law that provides important legal protections to active duty military members and members of the Reserve or National Guard called to active duty, covering such issues as as rental agreements, security deposits, prepaid rent, eviction, installment contracts, credit card interest rates, mortgage interest rates, mortgage foreclosure, civil judicial proceedings, and income tax payments.
