What is the selection process?
Depending on the role you apply for the selection process with incorporate various aspects. For all Sales Associate and Retail Manager roles, you will receive a short telephone discussion with the recruitment team, and then be invited to attend an assessment centre, followed by a line manger interview. For Head Office roles you will receive a short telephone discussion with the recruitment team, followed directly by line manager interviews. Please note that all candidates being offered a job at Harrods will be expected to complete a medical, before joining.
A. Having reviewed the background materials collected, the Selection Committee meets to discuss the nominations against the selection criteria. If the nomination appears promising, selectors will work with staff to develop a strategy for further investigation. Other nominations are deferred pending additional work forthcoming from the nominee. For still other nominations, a consensus develops that further consideration is not warranted. At the final meeting for each review cycle, the Selection Committee identifies the most outstanding nominations, representing a spectrum of creative activity, for recommendation to the Board of Directors for that year’s MacArthur Fellowships. Nominations that do not advance within a particular review cycle are retained for possible subsequent reconsideration.
Scripts are read by a reading committee which makes reports to the producing director. Submissions must address at least one of five Juneteenth themes. (1) 19th Century African-American experience, (2) pre and Harlem Renaissance Era, (3) Caribbean/Native American influences on African Americans, (4) contemporary issues and African-American youth, (5) images of women. The company is particularly interested in cabaret works supported by solo piano, dramatic works with incidental music, historical bio-dramas, and works that would be receiving a first public performance .
The selection process and timelines will vary by position. Only applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be forwarded to the hiring department for evaluation. The selection process may include tests and/or panel interviews. All candidates participating in an interview process will be notified via email of the outcome. All offers of employment are conditional upon successful completion of a post-offer physical and/or drug screen.
