What is the selection policy for audio and video titles?
WPLC DIGITAL SELECTION POLICY The Wisconsin Public Library Consortium (WPLC) is a cooperative group whose members are public libraries and library systems in Wisconsin. The WPLC contracts with the Digital Library Reserve to purchase audio books and films for library users to download. The WPLC acknowledges that most public libraries have selection policies; this policy is not intended to reflect those individual local policies but rather is designed to serve the cooperative and statewide nature of the collection. A Selection Committee representing the public libraries in the WPLC consortium chooses titles. Comments about the collection can be sent to the Project Manager. In choosing titles in digital format, the WPLC aims for a balance between offering popular materials and those that are in line with the institutional goals of public libraries (education, entertainment, outreach, how-to and instructional categories) as well as titles to meet the needs across varying audiences.
