What is the SecureCottage Ecommerce System?
The SecureCottage Ecommerce System is a way to do ecommerce using the technologies created by the SecureCottage encrypted email system. A Javascript file and/or Java applet strongly encrypts your ecommerce form data. Instead of clear text form data being sent through the web, RSA encrypted form data is sent instead. This is then emailed to you. You cut and paste this encrypted data into a Decryption Web Page which decrypts the form data for you. You then process the order. Your private RSA key is held in your Windows Registry. The SecureCottage ecommerce decryption web page accesses this data via an ActiveX control. A standard ecommerce web page is provided you in a Securecottage web directory that is given you upon entry into the 30 day free trial. You can change six parts of this web page so that they sell your item instead of the SecureCottage’s founder’s father’s book on “US Footy”.
