The Seamless Summer Feeding Option (SSFO) is a program that encourages Public School Districts and County Offices of Education (PSD/COEs) to provide meals during summer and other school vacation periods. The SSFO combines features of the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), School Breakfast Program (SBP), and Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). It reduces paperwork and administrative burdens and makes it easier for PSD/COEs to feed children in low-income areas during traditional summer vacation periods and during school vacation periods of two to three weeks for year-round schools.
