What is the Seal N Shield® made-of?
The Seal N Shield® Attic Stair and Attic Door Insulator is made of a multilayer closed cell insulation (foam) core with 99% pure aluminum laminates on both sides to reflect radiant heat. The top has dual layers of the material to form a one-quarter inch of core insulation with a dead air space between the layers to form a CONDUCTIVE R-Value of 3.5 (Actual R Value derived from Department of Energy DOE 2 program and American Society Heating Refrigeration Air Conditioning Engineers Tables (A.S.H.R.A.E) Guide 2004 Fundamentals) sandwiched between the radiant barriers of 99% pure aluminum which gives the material an effective R Value of 13+. The Seal N Shield® products are manufactured with industrial 8 mm nylon extruded zipper that is impervious to extreme temperature conditions. The Seal N Shield® Attic Stair Insulator has industrial zipper pulls which gives the owner the ability to open the Seal N Shield® Attic Stair Insulator to the side or rear of the unit.
