What is the screen on my SID is cracked or damaged?
Since the SID display is a liquid crystal, any cracks in the LCD glass can produce red blotchy spots on the screen. This is the liquid between the glass layers spreading out and oxidizing within the screen. If only the front layer of glass is cracked we an replace it with a new glass for an additional $10. If it is cracked through to the second layer, it is not possible to repair beyond perhaps making the pixels show up behind the crack and discoloration.
