What is the school districts policy on head lice?
District Five Schools will not allow any child to attend class with active head lice. The parent will be required to pick up the child from school immediately. The parent or guardian will need to bring the child to the health room the day of return to the school. Proof of treatment will be required for the child to return to the class room. The nurse may pull your child out of class in 2-3 days to check for lice again as nits that may have been missed may hatch in 3- 5 days. District Five Schools will provide Rid Shampoo to any parent if requested. The school nurse will be available for any questions concerning treatment of the child, treatment of the home and follow-up.
