What is the schedule for the Blue Angels in 2009?”
The Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, The Blue Angels, has announced its show schedule for the 2009 season. Following winter training, the team begins the season March 14 at Naval Air Facility El Centro, CA and will conclude the season Nov. 14 at NAS Pensacola, FL. The Blue Angels are scheduled to perform 67 shows at 34 locations throughout the United States and Canada. Demonstration sites are selected in support of U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps and Department of Defense objectives with safety as a primary consideration. Performances greatly assist in the recruiting and retention goals of the military services, enhance esprit de corps among uniformed men and women, and demonstrate the professional skills and capabilities of the Naval Services to the American public and U.S. Allies. The Blue Angels will have two full air shows, taking place both on Saturday, August 1st and Sunday, August 2nd in the 2009 Seafair schedule. Both shows will cause the I-90 Bridge to close between the house of 12:45 P.M. and 2:40 P.M. and will provide many great vantage points where people can enjoy these superb pilots pushing their jets to the edge. The Blue Angels show is one of the most spectacular events during any Seafair weekend, and this one should be no exception, as the weather looks great, and people can enjoy a nice weekend out on the water as the jet fly overhead.
