What is the scan time for scanning film?
The scan time is a function of many variables including scan resolution, scan area, multiple sampling, and other features of the scanning software. The total scan time includes time for the following actions: initializing the scanner, adjusting the focus, moving the scan head to the location of the scan frame, acquiring the data (i.e., scanning the film), and transferring the data to the computer. The time for some of these actions depends on the configuration of the computer and the type of connection between the scanner and the computer. Sample scan times for acquiring the data are provided as examples.
