What is the Sandton Convention Center?
The Sandton Convention Center (SCC) is a purpose built conference facility in the up-market Sandton suburb of Johannesburg (located to the north of the central downtown). SCC is a part of the Sandton Square development, which includes shopping, dining, office and civic amenities. Maps are available of the SCCs location within Sandton and also of the Sandton Square Development. The SCC will become UN territory for the course of the WSSD and therefore will be controlled in terms of logistics and security by UN officials from the WSSD Secretariat.
