What is the Salary and Training like for a Cadet Police Officer?
I guess it depends on what you mean by a Cadet police officer? Do you mean a person attending a police academy or one who has already graduated a police academy and is working the street? For the first, not every department pays you to go through a police academy. some will hire you and pay you while you go through, others make you pay for the academy and hope you get a job upon graduation. The pay remains the same for the 1st year until your come up for your next evaluation. For my department (this all varies GREATLY depending on state and department!), I was hired (large city)and they put me through the academy and paid me while I was attending. I was bringing home about $700 every 2 weeks. I got a substantial raise when my 1 year came up and was bringing home about $940 every 2 weeks. Hope this helps a little.
