What is the Sadc Defence Inspectorate?
Thank you. I will be in the chair for a year. Well, the Sadc Defence Inspectorate Working Group falls under the defence structures of Sadc. More so, it falls under the Inter-State Defence and Security Committee at ministerial level. It brings together state security, defence and public sector security (home affairs in other countries). Is there uniformity in the specific security ministries in Sadc? Precisely, the reason for the formation of the Inspectorate is to see what we have as a region. We will get into that later. In other countries like Zimbabwe, we do not have a Ministry of Correctional Affairs, because prisons are under the Ministry of Justice. But that is besides the point I am explaining at the moment. Let me explain the structures for now. Explain. Below the ministerial committee is the defence sub-committee and this is for defence chiefs, and below this is the operations sub-sub committee.
