What is the Rural Hamilton Official Plan?
The Official Plan for Rural Hamilton was adopted by Council on September 27, 2006. The new Plan creates a consistent land use policy framework for the entire Rural Area of the City, replacing the rural policies and maps in the Official Plans of the former municipalities, including the Region. The Plan also brings the City of Hamilton’s Rural Official Plan policies into conformity with the Greenbelt Plan, and it is consistent with the Provincial Policy Statement. The adopted Plan has been forwarded to the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing for approval.
