What is the rule in pro soccer for the keeper in regards to picking up the ball?
This rule actually applies to all levels of soccer with goalkeepers. The rule is the goalkeeper CAN pick up any ball that is last touched by the opposing team, unintentionally played to the keeper by his own team, and any ball that is headed back to him by their own team. If the keeper picks up a ball played to him by his own team inside his 18 results in an indirect free kick from the spot of the foul outside of the 6 yd.
