What is the Routing / ABA number and why is it important?
The ABA number (designed by the American Bankers Association) is a routing/transit number that acts as a bank’s identification number. This nine-digit number is used in sorting and clearing checks. You’ll need an ABA number to set up direct deposits or wire transfers. You’ll generally find the number in the lower left-hand corner of your checks, next to your account number.
