What is the rotational strength of JFC Retail?
A. The rotational strength varies by the size of the pipe. For 1/2-inch rigid copper pipe, the rotational pressure required to break the bond is approximately 300 pounds. For a 2-inch pipe, the rotational pressure required to break the bond is approximately 500 pounds. This is why wrenches and plyers should never be used on the pipe. It is also advisable not to hold on to the pipe when screwing a connection together. When joining a screw connection, be sure that all torque is on the connector.
