All students automatically become members of Southampton University Students’ Union (SUSU) when they join the University. Run by students, for students, it has a varied role to play. It lobbies the government and the University administration on issues that are important to the student body; provides valuable guidance and support through the Students’ Union Advice and Information Centre and Nightline; and organises an annual programme of events and activities.
