What is the role of the Peer Panel in the application review process?
Every application is reviewed by a Peer Panel, a group of subject matter experts in the areas potentially affected by the research project. The Peer Panel reviews each application to determine whether or not the research project is well-planned and logistically feasible; will benefit TDCJ; meets federal guidelines for the protection of human subjects; and will have no adverse affects on existing correctional operations.
