What is the role of the National Cancer Institute of Canada (NCIC)?
The NCIC provides funding for basic (laboratory) research, behavioural research, and clinical trials for all types of cancer. The NCIC is the research arm of the Canadian Cancer Society. It provides project funding for graduate students, post-doctoral fellows and technicians working on research teams. The BC and Yukon Division of the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) congratulates scientists awarded funding by the NCIC for 2002/03 new and/or continuing CCS research grants.
