What is the role of the Mayor?
The Mayor is the First Citizen of Lisburn City and is elected at the Councils Annual General Meeting held in June each year. As the Mayor is a representative of all the citizens of the City of Lisburn he/she shall remain impartial on controversial subjects particularly regarding religious or political matters. The Mayor chairs each Full Council meeting and may sit on all Council Committees. The Mayor also represents Lisburn City Council on a number of outside bodies.
