What is the role of the Justices of the Peace Appointments Advisory Committee?
The Committees responsibility under the Justices of the Peace Act is to classify candidates for appointment as Not Qualified, Qualified or Highly Qualified. Classifications will be based on a thorough review and evaluation process. The evaluation process may or may not include an interview. Classifications are reported to the Attorney General, who recommends candidates for Order-in-Council appointments to the Ontario Court of Justice.
