What is the role of the Internal Verifier?
The role of the verifier is quality driven. The three main aspects to the role are verifying assessment, developing and supporting assessors and managing the quality of NVQ delivery. It involves sampling your work to ensure that it consistently meets national standards; monitoring assessment practice by regular observation of your assessor and ensuring your assessor adheres to the NVQ Code of Practice. When a verifier has sampled your work, their signature can be seen in red ink on your evidence. This must not be removed from your portfolio. Feedback will be written to your assessor as guidance to any amendments required. Your verifier will send for your work every 2-3 months. If you can’t send your work in for whatever reason you must inform them. Failure to submit will result in you being withdrawn from your qualification.
