The role of the EQAO was to create and conduct a province-wide testing program for students in Ontarios French and English language schools. The EQAO has created testing procedures for grades 3, 6, 9 and 10. They are responsible for the creation of the tests, implementing the standards and rubrics for assessment and the scoring of the tests. The tests must act as accurate and comprehensive indicators of the grade level. The EQAO is also responsible for publishing the results of the tests for schools, boards, government, and parents to see and use to compare and for future planning.
