What is the role of the Cultural Attache at the Australia Embassy in Jakarta?
Fiona Hoggart from Melbourne, has been working as a First Secretary in the Cultural Department of the Australian Embassy in Jakarta for about one year. KGRE met her recently and asked her about her job and the role of the Cultural Section of the Australian Embassy in Jakarta. Fiona told KGRE that the main or primary purpose of the cultural section at the Australian Embassy, Jakarta is to build friendship and increase understanding between the people of Indonesia and the people of Australia. This is done in many different ways, such as through arts and culture, sport, the media, and various social programs. Fiona called it the ‘People to People Approach’.
