What is the role of non-students in EWB?
A commitment to human development doesn’t end at graduation; EWB members of all ages are continuing to drive positive change in Canada and around the world. New graduates and young professionals might be interested in spending a one to three years as one of our Overseas Volunteer Staff (OVS). Overseas, non-student members of EWB work as long-term overseas volunteers, dedicating between one and three years of their lives to EWB’s work with partners in Africa. Our volunteers have a strong focus on integration into their local culture and way of life; this takes time and the right mindset. Alternatively, in Canada, university chapter alumni and new members alike are joining/creating professional chapters, who work to engage the professional engineering community in driving pro-development change in both their workplaces and their lives.
