What is the role of my supervisor or workplace mentor?
Your supervisor or workplace mentor has a special role in assisting you to complete all of your training. We ask them to: • Help the trainee master skills that are in your own area of expertise • Direct the trainee to alternative sources of information where appropriate • Provide training resources and access to company policies and procedures • Track the trainee’s progress through the units of the traineeship • Assess the trainee to ensure he/she meets the Units of Competence for his/her traineeship and sign off in the Evidence Log • Motivate the trainee to complete his/her learning requirements • Provide feedback on the trainee’s performance The Trainer will ask your supervisor or workplace mentor to confirm that you have gained all of the skills required for the qualification you are working towards.
