What is the role of Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island in regards to the SHAPE study?
Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) sponsored the study to provide Rhode Island’s decision-makers with an objective tool on which to base important healthcare decisions for the state’s future. Considering that Rhode Island is projected to spend $35 billion on healthcare services, SHAPE is a critical first step to making informed decisions. Without such data, it would be difficult, if not impossible, to ensure the most efficient and effective use of healthcare resources at a time of rising costs.
