What is the role of an RSPA in the appointment process?

0

The RSPA is responsible for approving consultant, associate specialist and specialty doctor job descriptions in their specialty throughout the region. The RSPA will also sit on the panel (or nominate another consultant to do so on their behalf) for the appointment of associate specialists, and will liaise with representatives of the specialty and sub-specialty associations in carrying out these responsibilities. The RSPA is expected to keep up-to-date with the specialist association’s guidance in respect of the appointment of consultants.
