What is the role of an attorney in a Co-Parenting Mediation session?
During Co-Parenting mediation, parents are encouraged to take the active role in discussing with the other parent their issues and concerns with parent-time. The role of an attorney is to offering private legal advice and counsel to their client when needed. If you will be attending, the program requires that you notify us at least 48 hours before the mediation, so that we can inform the other party and give the other attorney the same chance to appear. In cases where an agreement is reached in mediation, attorneys are helpful in drafting up the agreement and finalizing it with the court.
