What is the role of a faculty advisor?
The role of your faculty advisor is to mentor and assist you in the planning and completion of your doctoral studies. Upon your admission to the program, you will be assigned a faculty advisor to guide you in your first few semesters; this advisor will help you plan your coursework. With time, as you meet other faculty members and define your research interests, you will select your major advisor who will guide you through the dissertation phase.
