In accordance with section 64 of the ADA Act, 2005, with the coming into force of this Act, the provisions of the Mizoram Urban & Regional Development Act, 1990 in so far as they relate to matters dealt with in the ADA Act stand repealed. With this, the role and functions of the Town & Country Planning Cell in so far as they relate to the URBAN AREAS OF AIZAWL have been taken over by the ADA. That Cell continues to have jurisdiction in areas outside the urban areas of Aizawl as before.
