What is the river styx?

0

In Greek mythology, the souls of all dead had to cross the river Styx, paying Charon a coin for the privilege. After they went past Cerebus, they were judged and placed according to their deeds, the Elysian Fields being reserved for the truly good and courageous and Tartarus for the evil and those that really ticked off the Gods. Also, the River Styx was supposed to have powerful properties, able to make anyone who bathed in it invulnerable. Hence, it is supposed to be the source of Achilles great power and immortality in battle except for the heel. It is said the reason he was vulnerable in the heel is because his mother held onto him so tightly when bathing him in it that no water from Styx touched him there, which is why he could eventually be killed. Sorry if that’s too much info, but Greek mythology was my thing as a kid.
