What is the “right” major to prepare my student for a good career?
The correlation between major and career is very small, unless the career requires very specific skills, as in engineering. There is a good chance a student will have many career choices with a major in Agriculture and Life Sciences. The best major is one that excites your student. Students can always take specialized courses to learn marketable skills, but employers hire people not majors. When your student applies for a job he or she will be presenting an entire package, and the college major is just one part of that package.
