What is the right food for my potted Redwood ?

0

A When I feed my potted redwoods I tend to use a general purpose plant food (such as the UK make Phostrogen) half the time, and the other half of the time I use a plant food intended for ericaceous plants. I have no evidence or proof that this is best, it is just a hunch. If your tree seems unhealthy you could also try the occasional dose of sequestrated iron. This supposed to help with yellowing of such plants. Finally, the other important thing to ensure is that the pot is wet right to the bottom, watering from the top often leaves the bulk of the soil dry. Having said that, whilst Coast and Dawn Redwood trees can tolerate perpetual saturation, the Giant Redwood would not be happy with this – allow it to dry a little more between waterings.
