IMHO, you reacted correctly. I have been a Personnel Manager for two of the largest business organizations in the world: GE and Exxon. In my opinion, the interviewer was the one being unprofessional. Since I don’t need a job, had I been the one being interviewed, I would have told her that she should be the one looking for a new job, then would have gotten up and walked out. When you’re looking for a job, it’s human nature to want to “put the best face on things.” But insofar as possible, I recommend that you be yourself in an interview. If you succeed in convincing an employer that you’re someone other than who you really are, they will expect you to be that same person once you start to work. They may later decide they don’t want someone like you after all.
