What is the Resource Center For Biodefense Proteomics Research (RCBPR)?
What is it? The Resource Center For Biodefense Proteomics Research (RCBPR) provides visualization and analytical capabilities for proteomics data deposited by NIAID’s Biodefense Proteomics Resource Center Research Centers (PRCs). Goal RCBPR is focused upon early stage characterization of therapeutic and diagnostic targets for selected viral, bacterial and protozoal organisms (see below for list). Specific goals are: • to characterize proteomes of pathogens and/or host cells • to identify proteins associated with the biology of the microbes • to elucidate mechanisms of microbial pathogenesis • to further understand innate and adaptive immune responses to infectious agents and non-immune mediated host responses that contribute to microbial pathogenesis.
