What is the required number of families served?
There is no specific requirement related to the number of families that must be served. Since each community has different needs and assets and the exact conditions cannot be known to the MFLC, this pilot project gives each community the opportunity to determine what is right for its particular situation. Applicants should keep in mind that there is a natural tension between wanting to serve a substantial number of families and providing the intensity and duration of services necessary to help families realize the sustainable changes that are the goal of comprehensive family literacy. Proposals should indicate the number of families initially expected to benefit. It is anticipated that this number will change over time.
