Physicians interested in locum opportunities can register for regular updates on locum availability or simply forward an electronic copy of your CV for circulation to all or select health authorities in the province. The listing of current locum opportunities are posted here on www.practiceNL.ca. Effective October 1, 2008 the remuneration for locum services is as stated in the Memorandum of Agreement, $689.00 per 24-hour day. If you cover a weekend, meaning Friday beginning at 4 p.m., all day Saturday and Sunday, you are paid an additional $433.00 for the Friday and the locum day amount of $689.00 for Saturday and again for Sunday. The benefits may vary per region, but usually include travel, accommodation, meals and transportation. Some Health Authorities will also reimburse locum licensing fees.
