What is the relationship of the DHS PTA and the Da Vinci Parent Booster Club?
The DHS PTA has a long history of helping support student life on campus for all groups. Da Vinci kids are one of those groups, of course. Some of our parents chose to join the DHS PTA because the small membership fee goes a long way to enhance the campus and they want to see that continue. Some choose to join both groups because they have a child in both schools. Some have focused their support solely to Da Vinci. At one of the first parent meetings, we voted to have a PTSO, similar to the national PTA model, but with the inclusion of students. After some further research we found that the fees charged by the national group were potentially too large for a small school to bear. We then turned to a Booster-type organization wherein we could keep more of the money raised, maintain non-profit status, and include all stakeholders in the school community.
