The Systems Engineering Directorate within the Office of the Director, Defense Research and Engineering (DDR&E/SE)provides ASD(NII) systems engineering support across all ACAT ID and IAM and special interest programs assigned to ASD(NII). The ASD(NII) staff performs a specialized function relating to net-centric aspects of programs, focusing on interfaces and the Global Information Grid (GIG). The DDR&E/SE and NII staff collaborate on program support activities, providing the necessary insights in understanding network, communications, information assurance, and compliance with the Net-Ready Key Performance Parameter (NR-KPP).
